Restaurant Review:
Tawasy

Dubai Festival City
Dubai

Subsequent to the revamp that it went through, Dubai Festival city is now bigger and better than ever and houses even more restaurants than it did before! We’ve been going back to the mall quite often lately owing to all the new restaurants that we are invited to and one such that we had a tasting at recently is Tawasy Restaurant & Grill. Tawasy presents a menu of Arabic and Mediterranean cuisines prepared using homemade recipes and the freshest ingredients ‘to satisfy the most demanding tastes,’ in their words.
Nestled in a corner of the mall, the décor of the large restaurant is minimalistic while the signs bright. Here is everything we had at our tasting:

  • Appetizer Platter
  • Jordanian Mansaf with dried Yogurt
  • Chicken Mandi

We quite enjoyed the appetizer platter which had some of our favorites like Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Vine Leaves and a few assorted salads on it. With regard to the Mansaf (a Jordanian dish made with lamb and eaten with fermented, dried Yogurt), it was a dish we were trying for the first time and an acquired taste to be honest. The Mandy was decent. We paired the food with some fresh Orange juice.

Dessert was our favorite part of the tasting! Two warm and sizzling cheese Kunafas were placed in front of us and we have to say these were what we found tastiest.

Overall, we think Tawasy is more for the hard core Mediterranean and Levant food fans so do head to the restaurant if you consider yourself one!
