We were recently invited to the tasting session of Savour @ Jumeirah Beach Hotel where we got the chance to try out a variety of delicious treats from the different restaurants at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. What is Savour all about? Read on to find out:

From the 17th to the 30th of April 2016, Jumeirah Beach Hotel will be hosting Savour, a two-week gourmet tour across a choice of seven signature restaurants at the hotel. Foodies can rejoice as you have the opportunity to try a variety of food ranging from old favorites to novel dining experiences from some of the hotel’s most loved eateries. In addition, there is something for everyone as you can take your pick from healthy fare to more indulgent bites among other options. Here are the offers you can avail of:


  • Three-course set menus for AED 99 in La Veranda and Waterfront
  • All-inclusive afternoon tea for AED 99 in Palm Court
  • Three-course set menus for AED 130 in D&A and Villa Beach
  • All-inclusive buffet lunch and dinner dining for AED 130 in Latitude and

  • 50% off each set price for all children below the age of 12 years

The Savour preview was held at Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s beautiful Sunset Gardens, so both stomachs and eyes were in for a feast as we had panoramic views of the Burj Al Arab, the beach and JBH itself. We were welcomed with some sparkling champagne but no sooner had we taken the glasses than another tray of gorgeous Martinis under a dome of Liquid nitrogen made its way to us. In terms of the drinks at this preview, we were spoilt for choice as a diversity of vibrant cocktails and juices were being served constantly.

My most preferred drink of the evening was “My Prestige,” which comprised of dark rum, rhubarb syrup, sweet sherry, lemon juice and Raspberry Jam. With regard to the food, the one item I couldn’t get enough of (I mean this wholeheartedly; I am not ashamed to say that I went back 6 times to get more of this and sometimes brought back 2-3 of it) was the Ravioli with roasted butternut squash, pecorino and truffle from La Veranda.

Delicious is an understatement when describing these luscious Italian goodies and definitely a must try. La Veranda also served little Calzones with Turkey and cheese, tasty! My second favorites from the evening were the Prawn, chicken and lamb satays with homemade sauce from Beachcombers. Loved these! Honorable mentions go out to the yummy Waterfront Live station which kept rolling out healthy salads such as the Quinoa, Smoked Ricotta and tomato jam one.

Even their spring rolls were great! Also watch out for the magnificent Peking Duck, one of the tastiest I’ve had. The cheese counter with crackers is always welcome and here it was the Smoked Carrigaline that emerged winner!

What we didn’t enjoy much and yes I know they’re an acquired taste were the live shucked oysters but we made up for those with all the Ravioli we ate.
