Restaurant Review:
Eat Sol

Al Majaz
Sharjah

Unless you’re on a hiatus from social media, chances are you would have seen your feed swarming with images of the extremely good-looking, Instagram worthy milkshakes and more from Eat Sol.  Perched across the picturesque Buheirah Corniche, Eat Sol, with its quirky and imaginative interiors, a colorful open kitchen, and an interesting menu of Shawarmas, Sliders & Monster Shakes, has been trending on social media and with good reason. Do the food and drink live up to the hype though? A recent tasting session at the restaurant gave us the answer to that question.

Food

  • Chicken Shawarma: Saj Bread, Chicken Shawarma, Garlic Mayo, Cucumber Pickles
  • Dynamite Shawarma Roll: Soft Potato Bun, Chicken Shawarma, Dynamite Sauce, Coleslaw, Spring Onion
  • Fajita Roll: Soft Potato Bun, Chicken Shawarma, Onion, Green And Red Capsicum, Garlic Cream, Avocado Tartar
  • Batata W Shawarma: Chicken Shawarma, Fries, Cheddar Cheese, Fried Onion, SOL, Jalapeno

Among the food, our favorites were the Chicken Shawarma and the Dynamite Shawarma Roll. The Dynamite roll was a unique twist on the classic Shawarma and packed a punch with the different flavors that resided in this sandwich. As for the Fajita roll, we thought it was savory but nothing out of the ordinary. The Fries with the interesting diversity of contents in them were appetizing, however we think that they’d be even better with actual melted cheddar cheese as opposed to cheese sauce.

Drinks & Desserts

  • LOTUS: Lotus Shake, Vanilla Frosting Rim with Lotus Crumble Topped with Whipped Cream, Lotus Crumble, Mars Chocolate, Lotus Biscuit and Lotus Caramelized Sauce.
  • OREO: Oreo Shake, Vanilla Frosting Rim with Oreo Crumble, Topped with Whipped Cream, Oreo, Hershey’s White Chocolate, Oreo Biscuits and Chocolate Sauce
  • COCO: Coconut Cookies with Nutella Chocolate, topped with Icing Sugar

There was no way we were leaving without feasting on the Shakes that have been the most eye-catching aspects of Eat Sol on Social Media. With respect to presentation, the milkshakes piled high with goodies were absolute winners! But regarding the taste, we found them falling slightly short of expectations. Perhaps a case of too many cooks.

Nevertheless, they were still nice accompaniments to the food and made for great Instagram fodder.

All in all, Eat Sol is another cool, funky addition to Sharjah’s burgeoning food scene and we’d say it’s worth a visit!
